Torri Cantine
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Turan 2008
RIPE & BOLD FULL BODIED RED
From an exceptional vintage, this is a charming wine with generous layers of dark fruit supported with hints of liquorice, chocolate and tobacco. Despite being more than one decade old it is still fresh and drinking beautifully. This exceptional Montepulciano comes from a 40 year old vineyard planted over stony and loose soil in Northern Abruzzo very close to the border with the Marche region.

Manual selection of the grapes harvested towards the end of October in a 40 year old vineyard in Colonnella and Controguerra with optimal exposure and low yield.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks thermo-conditioned and after the malolactic fermentation it matures in old french barriques for 18 months and then ages in bottle for at least 12 months.
A big and mature red. The nose is intense with a spicy bouquet of roasted dried fruit and chocolate. On the palate it is mouthfilling with aroma of dark fruit supported with hints of licorice, chocolate and tobacco. It has immense smoothness with supple tannins and a long finish.
It expresses perfectly its personality with red meat and game, blue cheese and seasoned salami.
